Croatian students of pharmacy have chosen Dubrovnik, second year following, as a place for assembling their most significant congresses. From a cradle of Croatian pharmaceutics, Dubrovnik has a chance to become a recognizable city, where students, young pharmacists and experts would be making a new future for pharmacy in total.
And so this year, for the second time in less than six years, Croatian students got the honour to host one of the most important European Pharmaceutical Students` Association`s congress. At the beginning of the year 2008., Croatian pharmacy and biochemistry student`s association has started, in cooperation with EPSA, organization of the traditional, international EPSA`s congress - Autumn Assembly. AA traditionally follows annual congress of European Society of Clinical Pharmacy, which is going to be held from 22 to 24 October 2008. This year`s theme of the ESCP 37th European Symposium on Clinical Pharmacy is: „Pharmaceutical Care Models and Therapeutic Innovations“.
Croatian students regularly attend EPSA`s events such as AA, which gathers 150 students from 32 European countries. EPSA AA is organized in association with the ESCP and consists of the EPSA-ESCP Student Symposium and the ESCP European Symposium on Clinical Pharmacy. Along with the scientific part there is also an educational, which includes workshops and presentations. Students are those who have to take care for relaying the knowledge to their colleagues in an interesting and attractive way.
By conjunction of professional and informal themes, congress offers to the attendees a wide range of new knowledges and skills. Discourse of the international projects as well as ideas for local operations, in addition developing an interest among the students for forthcoming collaborations. This is something which can serve as a great experience to young students and can also be useful for his/her future carrier. Next to lectures and workshops, the most important component of a congress is the Annual Assembly, which is going to be held 36th time and for the 2nd time in Croatia. Believing that students can also contribute with their pondering and propositions to professional improvement, Annual Assembly indirectly collaborates with the European Commission and International Pharmaceutical Federation. At the same time it emphasizes as a relevant representative of students in the world of professionals.
The faculties provide various curriculums, but congresses like this one offer learning new skills, enhancing acquired ones and preparing young people for better work in their profession. Our goal is not just to help students progress in their work and educate them about the new achievements in the field of pharmacy, but also closely acquaint them with the beauties of Croatian natural and cultural heritage.
Along to scientific-educational program students will be provided with a rich social-entertaining program. Possibilities of sight-seeing and every night thematic parties make Dubrovnik for this event idealistic.
